About the apprenticeship
Every apprenticeship program is different, check with your local union.
BAC (Bricklayers and Allied Crafts) members receive apprenticeship training through local apprenticeship programs. Apprenticeship combines classroom instruction with on-the-job training. A portion of the classroom instruction is hands-on training.
Program length: 24-48 months
Starting wage: Ranges from $13.73-$14.50 an hour

An apprentice who enters the program with no prior experience will earn 35% of the current journeyman rate. They can expect to progress through the program with pay increases every six months.
The length of each program varies with Marble Finishers and Tile Finishers – 2 years, Marble Masons, Tile Layers and Pointer, Cleaner, Caulkers (PCC) – 3 years and Bricklayers – 4 years.
Once you complete one of the apprenticeship programs you will receive a certificate from the state of California and also from the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers.
You will have established a foundation on which to build a future.
