Training programs that prepare the participant for applying to a certified apprenticeship program.  Although there is no standardized curriculum for these courses, they generally include an introduction to the construction trades, tools, basic job skills, mentoring and preparation for the entrance requirements for each trade.  These programs are offered by many different organizations such as: local unions, building trades councils, local school districts, community based organizations, community colleges, and One-Stop career centers.

If you are considering enrolling in a pre-apprenticeship program, BC3 has developed a “Best Practices” list to help you identify the qualities that make a successful program.  Click Here to view the list.
